The Sandbox Announces Open Publishing and New 100M SAND Game Maker Fund

During its first Global Creators Day, The Sandbox announced plans to empower creators and reach 2,000 user-generated experiences on its map in 2024. These plans include opening the Sandbox to all creators and a new game maker fund.

The Sandbox is software running on Ethereum that operates a decentralized virtual gaming world. At its core, the Sandbox is a game in which players can buy digital plots of land, called LAND, and create experiences on top of them to share with other users.

The company has an ecosystem of over 200 creator studios with a pipeline of 200 experiences in production, 130,000 creators, and 24,000 LAND owners.

Sandbox New Plans

Starting from November 3rd, “LAND” owners can publish their own experiences without needing to partake in the previous application process. This feature is designed to accelerate user-generated content to unleash the creative potential of game producers on the platform.

The Game Maker tool will be updated to version 0.9 before 2024. This upgrade will introduce new gameplay mechanics, templates and social interactions to make content production easier and more engaging to players.

Additionally, the platform said there is a new 100 million SAND Game Maker Fund set to start in 2024 with the aim of empowering more creators than it previously did.

Sandbox is set to implement these upgrades as a means of conveying to the community how valuable they view the worlds users build, the stories they weave and the adventures designed, according to Nicola Sebastiani, the chief content officer.

The Global Creators Day

The Global Creators Day afforded Sandbox’s executive team the opportunity to reaffirm the platform’s vision to provide a new form of entertainment that is more participatory, engaging, and rewarding for users and communities.
