What If XRP Commands 50% Of The Global Crypto Market?

2025 was choppy for many digital assets. Macroeconomic developments and a looming fear of a trade war fueled one of the biggest liquidation drives seen by the industry. However, things did work out for XRP. Since the beginning of the year, XRP has managed to consolidate its position as the third-largest crypto asset. XRP only trails behind BTC and ETH, but sources suggest it might aim for the second position shortly.

Since November 2024, XRP has grown by six times. This has positively affected its market ranking to a great extent. This has made investors hopeful about the token growth and potential. Seeing the meteoric rise of the token, the industry is going wild with its speculations. Some experts suggest that XRP could easily take over BTC and grow into a multi-trillion-dollar asset.

What If XRP Gains 50% Of The Global Market?

In light of the recent growth of the token, The Crypto Basic presented a scenario where XRP controlled 50% of the global market. When writing, the global crypto market is valued at $3.2 trillion, and XRP covers only 156 billion US dollars. Therefore, XRP commands 4.875% of the market cap. Given the current market cap of 3.2 trillion US dollars, XRP needs to raise its valuation to 1.6 trillion US Dollars. This means the unit price of the token needs to reach $27.65.

At the time of writing, XRP is attaining 50% of the market, which is a speculative stance. For XRP to take over half of the market, the other half must be shared by Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Solana, BNB, and others. However, given the market state, the token could only command 50% of the market when all the other tokens crash drastically, not affecting XRP. Otherwise, if XRP grows along with others, it might not be able to command 50% of the market.
