Vitalik Buterin Looks to AI to Solve Ethereum’s Biggest Technical Risk

Ethereum Vitalik Buterin

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has identified how artificial intelligence could help fix the network’s biggest technical risk. In a tweet on Monday, the owner stated that AI-assisted formal code verification and debugging could be the final icing that would solve Ethereum’s most challenging issue.

The comment came as its major Dencum upgrade draws nearer. The network experienced a four-hour-long delay while implementing the Dencum upgrade on its testnet on January 17. Subsequently, the team found out that a bug in Prsym was the cause of the delay.

Vitalik Again Endorses AI

Aside from a few reservations about the AI sector in his blog post in January, Buterin has nothing but love for artificial intelligence. He has discussed how a crypto and AI synergy would bring new possibilities for blockchain technology.

“In general, use cases where the underlying mechanism continues to be designed roughly as before, but the individual players become AIs, allowing the mechanism to effectively operate at a much more micro scale, are the most immediately promising and the easiest to get right,” Vitalik stated.

Buterin’s comment added spice to the already-booming AI narrative. The sector saw investor interest following Sam Altman’s launch of Sora, a text-to-video generating AI. Tokens like Worldcoin (WLD) and Fetch.ai (FET) added massive gains during the weekend.

Positioning for Growth

If Ethereum seeks to continue growing amidst rivalry, the adoption of new technology becomes imperative. Buterin once stated that Ethereum would fail unless the network improved its scalability, security, and privacy.

Incorporating AI’s robust security and auditing could help Ethereum maintain its position as the scalability king of the crypto sector, warding off serious competition from Solana and Cardano.
