Fans of Italian football club giant, Juventus FC, will be the first in the world to get involved in the decision-making process of the club by purchasing the Juventus fan tokens ($JUV).
According to an announcement by the Malta-based tokenized sports fan voting platform, Socios.com, the token, which was earlier launched last year via a partnership between Juventus and Socios.com, can be acquired via the recently released Socios app.
Following the release of app’s full version, Juventus has launched a poll today that would require fans to select a replacement of its default goal celebration song from a list of four songs, such as All The Small Things by Blink 182, Song 2 by Blur, Jump Around by House of Pain, and Boom by POD.
As per the announcement, the selected song will be played starting from next year’s match fixture, eventually replacing its Chelsea Dagger default goal celebration tune, which has been used at the club’s stadium for the last eight years.
Commenting on the development, Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO, and Founder of Chiliz and Socios.com was quoted as saying:
The goal celebration song is integral to the matchday experience […] When Juventus fans decide on the new goal celebration song, they will make history by becoming the first supporters of any team to take part in the club decision-making process through Fan Tokens.
The blockchain-based fan engagement startup has sealed vital partnerships with top football clubs in Europe, including Paris St Germain (PSG), Atletico Madrid, Roma, and West Ham.
However, today’s news would see Juventus become the first football club to hold a Fan Token Offering (FTO) with Socios.com, as Socios has also lined up six more FTO’s for top football clubs around the world, which is scheduled to kick-off in Q1 2020.
