Tron Founder, Justin Sun has finally let the cat out of the bag regarding his ‘big win’ announcement that caused the price of Tron (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT) to soar in the last few weeks.
The cryptocurrency enthusiast hated by some for his announcement antics and loved by others for his contributions to the ecosystem paid a whopping $4.57 million, for the 20th charity anniversary lunch with the Sage of Omaha, Warren Buffet.
Buffets have long held a negative view of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, once referring to the former as ‘rat poison’ in one of his media appearances. Now, he will get a chance to have lunch with crypto and blockchain industry leaders and possibly another shot to reconsider his earlier statements about the emerging asset class.
Yes. Justin Sun may have had to pay as much as $4.57 million for lunch with Buffet (note that the money goes to a charity organization and the billionaire investor) but in the process won the industry a chance to convince one of its more die-hard detractors to give it a second chance.
Who Will Go For Us?
Interestingly, Justin’s record-breaking auction allows him to bring along seven people to the prestigious lunch and he had already confirmed that he would take with him “blockchain industry leaders.”
The Tron Founder is yet to announce his selection but has already received a handful of suggestions including a request by Bitcoin enthusiast Anthony Pompliano to join the lunch party at Smith & Wollensky steakhouse in New York.
Many cryptocurrency enthusiasts also endorsed Pomp’s application possibly not only for his contributions to the crypto community but also the recent milestone he pulled off by convincing two U.S Pension Funds to invest in a Blockchain Fund offered by his firm Morgan Creek Digital.
Other crypto personalities endorsed by the community include Ethereum founder, Vitalik Buterin, Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao, Shapeshift CEO, Erik Voorhes, Ripple CEO, Brad Garling House, and a few others.
