Binance CZ Is Launching a New Project, But It’s Not Crypto

The former Binance boss has announced a plan to launch a new educational project.

Several members of the crypto community express curiosity and enthusiasm as Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder and former CEO of crypto exchange Binance, announces a plan to launch an educational project. The announcement comes as one of the first few tweets from the former Binance boss.

A Shift Towards Education

CZ shared little details on his next exploration. He only emphasized that no new token will be involved in the forthcoming educational project.

The Binance co-founder, known for using cryptic hand gestures and texts to pass messages, said “no” twice in his tweet. This has sparked curiosity among followers.  Frank DeGods (Rohun Vora), the founder of popular NFT projects DeGods and y00ts, speculated that CZ’s upcoming education project will possibly feature a crypto token as both “no” will cancel each other out.

Even though sparse detail is available about CZ’s education project, some users have also shown their support ahead of its launch. Others are even suggesting subjects to be discussed in the project.

CZ’s Potential Prison Sentence

CZ stepped down from his role as Binance CEO in late November 2023 as part of a plea settlement with the United States authorities. The plea included a $4.3 billion settlement to be paid by Binance.

The Binance co-founder now faces criminal charges involving money laundering, unlicensed money transmission, and others. He was released in the U.S. on a $175 million bond. He remains in the country, away from his family in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). CZ is expected to face a court hearing on April 30th, 2024. Experts suggest that he may likely spend between 12 to 18 months in jail following the court hearing.
