The crypto industry giant Ripple has announced its new partnership with an African payment provider platform. Chipper Cash is providing payment services all over Africa and is partnering with Ripple to provide international transactions for users. This is not the first time Ripple has partnered with an African company; however. In 2023, they partnered up with a African payment provider named Onafriq. Ripple provides global transactions with high speeds and lower costs, making it a more efficient option compared to traditional systems. The XRP token also plays a crucial role in delivering such efficiency, as the payment network also uses this crypto.

Based on the data provided by Ripple, its payment system has been expanding globally and now covers 90 payout markets. As such, the Ripple payment system now covers over 90% of the global daily FX markets. This, in turn, translates to the Ripple network transcacting and processing approximately $70 billion in volume. The crypto space in Africa has been growing fast and is now projected to reach $2.9 billion. Such growth can be attributed to the utility of cryptocurrencies in developing countries. A weak economy and a degrading currency will push investors towards cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

Ripple’s Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, Reece Merrick, also reacted to this partnership.

He also stressed that now users and companies in this region are starting to adopt blockchain. To further support this claim, he argued that the newfound appreciation comes because of the recognition of crypto’s potential. As such, he expressed excitement about delivering Ripple’s payment services to individuals and businesses in the region.

Additionally, it is also noteworthy that the system’s use of XRP tokens further helps its reputation and longevity. This is because XRP cryptocurrency has been through several market cycles and has proven its long-term worth. Additionally, with an already massive community of investors and users, Ripple represents one of the best crypto payment providers available.
