XRP News: Cardano’s Hoskinson Drops XRP Bomb to Hype New Privacy Project

Cardano’s Hoskinson confirms XRP holders will get Midnight airdrop as Trump’s crypto reserve plan boosts XRP and ADA. Grayscale eyes Cardano ETF.Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson confirmed that XRP holders will be included in the upcoming Midnight airdrop, drawing attention from the crypto community. Midnight, a privacy-focused protocol within the Cardano ecosystem, will distribute tokens to millions of wallets across multiple blockchains, including the XRP Ledger.

Midnight Airdrop to Include XRP Holders

On March 2, Hoskinson confirmed that XRP holders would receive a share of the Midnight “glacier drop”, an initiative designed to encourage the adoption of the new privacy-focused protocol. Midnight aims to provide secure and private smart contracts, enhancing privacy across multiple blockchains.

The glacier drop will distribute tokens to 37 million wallets across eight major blockchains, including Avalanche, Bitcoin, BNB, Cardano, Ethereum, Solana, BAT, and XRP Ledger. However, the exact timeline for Midnight’s launch and token distribution remains unclear.

Trump’s Crypto Reserve Plan Boosts Interest

Hoskinson’s announcement comes as XRP gains more attention, especially after U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed plans to include it in a national crypto reserve. In a post on Truth Social, Trump outlined plans for a reserve holding major U.S.-based digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Cardano (ADA), Solana (SOL), and XRP.

The market reacted quickly to Trump’s statement. Cardano’s ADA jumped over 50%, climbing past $1, while XRP rose more than 15%, reaching $2.60.

Grayscale Moves Toward a Cardano ETF

In another development, Grayscale Investments included Cardano (ADA) into its Smart Contract Fund – alongside Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Sui, Near, and Polkadot. This development follows institutional interest in ADA as a long-term investment.

Furthermore, the trust has already filed another proposal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a spot Cardano (ADA) ETF. This would be the first standalone Cardano investment product in the U.S. market if approved.

Hoskinson Defends XRP’s Inclusion in Crypto Reserve

During conversations about XRP’s position in the U.S. crypto reserve, Hoskinson voiced his backing for the initiative. Addressing critiques from certain industry leaders, he labeled XRP’s technology as “excellent” and recognized the community’s strength amid its prolonged regulatory challenges.

Hoskinson stated that XRP is an excellent technology, a worldwide standard, has endured ten years of tough cycles, and boasts one of the strongest communities.

XRP’s addition to the reserve strategy remains a hot topic within the cryptocurrency community and his remarks come at that time. Trump’s and Hoskinson’s backing is welcomed by numerous XRP holders and members of the community, which see it as a step towards greater mainstream adoption.

Enthusiasm for Cardano’s Midnight initiative and XRP’s position in the market persists, as the sector looks forward to further regulatory guidance.
