Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss revived their entrepreneurial career after a fallout with Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg by embracing the then muddy Bitcoin waters during the last decade.

Having been the main characters in the best-selling non-fiction book, Bitcoin Billionaires, the twins are now working on bringing their story to life via a feature film in collaboration with New York Times bestselling author, Ben Mezrich and Greg Silverman’s content creation studio, Stampede Ventures.

Ben Mezrich had covered the Winklevoss’s legal battles with Zuckerberg via his bestseller, The Accidental Billionaires, and followed up the series by writing Bitcoin Billionaire in 2019.

According to a Deadline report on the upcoming movie, the idea is to “tell the story of how the brothers risked everything and eventually became the world’s first Bitcoin billionaires.”

Revealing the spark behind the idea to bring Bitcoin Billionaires to live via a feature film, Silverman cites a recent read of the book after his son had received it while interning at Winklevoss Capital, the venture capital arm of Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron Winklevoss’s successful careers.

The report then quotes Silverman as saying:

We are very grateful at Stampede that we were able to convince them to turn their story into a film and produce it with us. This is Rocky II meets Wall Street in a world filled with unique and mesmerizing characters. This is going to make an incredible film.

A happy Tyler Winklevoss who recently labeled Bitcoin as the only vaccine to the money printing disease shared news about the upcoming movie on Twitter, saying:

A date for the movie release is yet to be announced. When it is released, though, it will mark another tale in the Winklevoss’s eventful foray into Bitcoin, which had famously begun with the twins buying up 1% of all bitcoins in circulation in 2011 for a total sum of $11 million.

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss also successfully built a crypto exchange business, Gemini, which in recent weeks partnered with Samsung to integrate its crypto wallet in upcoming versions of its mobile devices.
