Voyager Digital Partners US National Women’s Soccer League for Multiple Crypto Initiatives

Voyager Digital partners NWSL

Publicly-traded crypto platform Voyager Digital said it has become the official cryptocurrency brokerage partner of the United States National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in a multi-year partnership deal.

Voyager Digital will enhance the league’s global marketing reach, as well as assist players by providing direct financial support paid for in crypto assets and crypto education.

Steve Ehrlich, CEO and co-founder of Voyager, said:

“We are extremely proud to partner with NWSL, specifically to help the league grow and provide its players with crypto education and direct financial support, paid for in crypto.”

Per the announcement, the crypto education program will focus on helping players develop sustainable financial growth for the long-term, especially after the end of their playing careers.

Voyager’s Investment in NWSL

Under the partnership, Voyager will establish a crypto fund that will be distributed equally to all players in the NWSL.

The funds will be deposited into an account accessible only on the Voyager mobile app, the announcement adds.

The U.S.-based crypto firm will also be launching an NWSL Voyager Ambassador roster, which will see Voyager add one player from each team.

Notably, the criteria for selection will depend on each player’s commitment to crypto education initiatives, content creation, and collaboration with other teammates to better manage their Voyager accounts.

Marla Messing, NWSL interim CEO, said that Voyager’s addition to its list of partners will contribute to providing the necessary support for all clubs and players, adding:

“Voyager’s investment in the league is especially innovative because we’ve collectively designed this partnership to include direct financial resources for every one of our players, as well as education on the revolutionary changes underway in digital assets.”

Crypto Partnerships in Sports

The number of partnerships between crypto-related firms and major sports organizations has continued to soar as the collaboration has been in the interests of both parties.

While sports organizations are expanding their marketing and acquiring financial support via these partnerships, crypto firms are driving mainstream cryptocurrency adoption.

Meanwhile, several crypto-related startups like eToro, OKEx, and FTX, have partnered with top sports-related entities in the past.
