Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady, and world-renowned supermodel, Gisele Bündchen, have both taken an equity stake in the leading cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, FTX, as part of a long-term partnership deal.
Following an official announcement on Tuesday, the celebrity couple is now part owners of the crypto trading firm and will receive an unspecified amount of cryptocurrency.
The couple has already opened their Blockfolio accounts, which they will use to invest in and trade any cryptocurrency of their choice. Blockfolio is a subsidiary of FTX.
As per the report, Brady will serve as the exchange’s ambassador while Bündchen takes the role of FTX’s Environmental & Social Initiatives Advisor.
Speaking on the partnership, FTX’s CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried, said:
“After talking with Tom and Gisele on our shared interest in crypto, charity, and doing your best, I was excited for them to be a part of what we’re building at FTX. I’m excited to announce our long-term partnership and believe their support will be huge in helping us achieve our goals. The three of us have a shared passion for giving back in ways that are the most impactful. I look forward to working with both of them on growing the FTX brand alongside other exciting environmental, social, and charitable initiatives that we have planned together.”
Tom Brady’s Crypto Involvements
Brady has been a crypto proponent for some time now. He admitted that this recent partnership with FTX is not the first time that he has been involved with crypto.
He expressed his passion to contribute to the development of the crypto industry saying,
“It’s an incredibly exciting time in the crypto-world and Sam and the revolutionary FTX team continue to open my eyes to the endless possibilities. This particular opportunity showed us the importance of educating people about the power of crypto while simultaneously giving back to our communities and planet. We have the chance to create something really special here, and I can’t wait to see what we’re able to do together.”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion had even added laser eyes to his Twitter profile earlier in May, a gesture popularized by many top bitcoin enthusiasts for showing their full support for the industry and to push prices higher.
However, a few weeks after he updated his profile, bitcoin’s price fell by 40% and this made him joke on Monday that perhaps his “laser eyes” didn’t work.
Alright the laser eyes didn’t work. Anyone have any ideas? https://t.co/43WyShRxr2

Forwarding Charity Projects
As part of the partnership, the couple will also work closely with FTX on various charity projects. They are already committed to providing an annual multi-million donation to charity.
Bündchen also noted that she will drive several existing initiatives like “reducing FTX’s carbon footprint.”
“What attracted me most about this partnership was the potential to apply resources to help regenerate the Earth, and enable people to lead better lives, therefore generating real transformation in our society. I look forward to working with the FTX team to create a positive impact in our world!”
FTX recently had the privilege of renaming the Miami Heat’s National Basketball Association stadium to FTX Arena.
