Sports Tokenization Platform, Socios x Chiliz, Finally Rolls Out iOS App

Malta-based Socios, a startup tokenizing fan engagement sports clubs around the world, has finally rolled out the iOS version of its flagship mobile app where fans can buy tokens to engage with their various clubs.

The new release comes roughly three months after Socios soft-launched its Android version, and could significantly improve the adoption of Chiliz (CHZ), the project’s native token that is already listed on major crypto exchanges.

Per an announcement by Socios and Chiliz CEO, Alexandre Dreyfus, the new release comes with a fiat gateway allowing fans to directly purchase CHZ, thus, unlocking their offering to a wider range of users. The iOS version of Socios is also available in eight languages.

From the start, users can acquire tokens belonging to Socios partner sports teams including Paris St. Germain, and Juventus, with fan token offerings for other teams like Atletico de Madrid, AS Roma, West Ham, Galatasary, Independiente, and OGesports expected to launch in the coming months.

As Coinfomania reported last month, the sports tokenization platform reached over 50,000 users within the first two months, and with the CEO recently teasing a 100k milestone, the rollout of the iOS version could see Socios reach that mark faster.

Meanwhile, in a similar report about a sports team adopting blockchain-based products, the Italian side, Fiorentina recently adopted a blockchain-powered verification tool for jerseys sold by the club.
