Satoshi Nakamoto: Case Of An Unidentified Genius Who Never Came To Light

BTC has always been a popular choice of token for investors. It is one of the most sought-after cryptos in the market due to its market cap and overall percentage of the. However, BTC saw one of the most influential booms in recent history when Donald Trump came into power. The re-elected POTUS Donald Trump framed his election campaigns in a way that depicted his pro-crypto stance. This made Americans more confident about investing in BTC even though prices show bearish tendencies due to macroeconomic developments.  

Amidst all this, the creator of BTC, Satoshi Nakamoto, remains a mystery. Nakamoto created one of the most influential digital assets and is still a shadow figure in the crypto world. Nakamoto remains a mystery even in a transparent digital age like today. As a result, HBO went on an investigative hunt to find the famed creator of BTC and put rest to all the conspiracy theories, once and for all. 

The Goose Chase 

In the investigative piece Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery, the director interviewed several major players in the industry. One such person was Coinbase director Conor Grogan. Grogan shared, “I went through Satoshi Nakamoto’s wallets… My best guess is that Satoshi was last active onchain in 2014 … He may have used a Canadian BTC exchange [and]…“ Grogan added that Nakamoto’s final message was sent to Mike Hearn, developer of BTC, saying, “moved on to other things.’ The message was sent in 2011, more than a decade ago. 

Grogan further added that he found a BTC address linked to a Canadian-based crypto exchange named CaVirtEx. Grogan stated, “I believe this is the first documented onchain between a Satoshi-linked wallet and a CEX [centralized exchange].” This organization was bought by US-based Kraken in 2016.  

As a result, Grogan believes that co-founder Jesse Powell and others at Kraken may have some idea about the true identity of the crypto enigma. However, no representative from Kraken either confirmed or denied this claim made by Coinbase Director Conor Grogan.  

Satoshi Nakamoto’s case is a rare and eccentric case that is no less than a conspiracy theory. A tale of an unknown genius who remains in the shadow till this date. Follow for more crypto news.
