Ripple CEO Candid About Differences Between XRP and Bitcoin

David Schwartz sheds light on the prime difference between XRP and Bitcoin. The supply dynamics are different!  

XRP and Bitcoin are legions apart. XRP is much smaller in stature to begin with. While RP has only 100 million tokens in stock, Bitcoin has an inventory of more than 21 million coins. A CoinMarketCap data sheet says that Bitcoin is now circulating 19.8 million BTC. XRP vs Bitcoin transaction speed also differs.  

XRP is faster, cheaper, and has more scalability than Bitcoin. The two coins are also different from the point of view of some basic dynamics. In a recent X post, Ripple’s CEO pointed out the differences.  

Nobody can deny that the number of bitcoins in the market is much higher than that of XRP. That’s the broadest difference to begin with. Meanwhile, investors may debate that the number of BTC holdings with individual investors is lesser than XRP. However, Schwartz’s 18th Feb X post also answers that.  

According to him, the unit value of BTC is insurmountable. However, XRP is just priced at $2.57.  

Background of the Journeys  

In 2011, Schwartz, Jed, and Arthur were taken aback by something like Bitcoin. However, they did not like the perspective of mining coins. Based on that thought, they created the XRP ledger. As Schwartz says- it is a digital ledger that’s more sustainable and it’s easy to pay with that network.  

Bitcoin started differently. The creators, including Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous co-founder, wanted mining to be an integral part of Bitcoin’s existence. That is one of the reasons why the price point of Bitcoin could soar so high.
