Progressive Care, a Florida-based technology and healthcare providing firm, today announced that it now accepts bitcoin as a means of payment for the Rapid COVID-19 test for its customers.
The latest development is aimed at attracting over 50,000 bitcoin users who are attending the bitcoin conference slated for this weekend, using bitcoin as a payment solution for the COVID-19 test. At the time of writing, the Bitcoin conference is already underway in Miami and represents “the largest bitcoin event in history.”
Since the COVID-19 test is a compulsory requirement for international travelers by many airlines, bitcoin as a means of payment will serve as a preventive measure against the virus.
Worth noting is that the company’s Pharmacy PharmcoRx at Miami has since started accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment solution, but will now extend crypto access to its COVID-19 testings solutions.
The new development will serve as a “shield” against the further resurgence of the Coronasirus, says progressive Care’s CEO and Chairman Alan Jay Weisberg. He further added,
We believe in the future of blockchain technologies, generally speaking, and we want to extend our market-leading services in rapid COVID-19 testing solutions to those who prefer to pay through Bitcoin.”
In a bid to allow customers to enjoy a user-friendly experience, the Pharmacy has created a QR payment code streamlined for cryptocurrency users only.
Commenting on the company’s portfolio on an international scale, the CEO Weisberg said “PharmacoRx has tested over 10,000 people for COVID-19 to date, generating over one million dollars in testing revenues. We are happy to invite Bitcoin holders to our locations for all of their COVID-19 testing needs.”
Today, bitcoin has gained widespread adoption as a good number of companies now accept bitcoin payments. Coinfomania reported that OGC Taproom, a beer production company, and retail giant, Sheetz, have added bitcoin as payment options.
