Polygon Integrates Push Protocol to Enhance Web 3 Communication

Layer-2 scaling network Polygon announced Thursday that it had integrated the Push protocol into its ecosystem to bolster the communication system across decentralized applications built on the mainnet.

What is Push Protocol?

Push protocol is a decentralized communication tool built for Web 3 applications. The project, which was originally built on the Ethereum network, boasts of its delivery of a “wallet-to-wallet and wallet-to-dapp messaging” service.

As of two days ago, the Push protocol was known by the name Ethereum Push Notification Service (EPNS), before it rebranded to its current name. Since then, the company has stated that it is on a mission to extend its use cases beyond push notifications.

“Communication is a critical component for the future of the internet, and Push is rapidly expanding beyond the Ethereum network and beyond push notifications by building the missing piece of web3,” said Harsh Rajat, co-founder of Push Protocol.

By collaborating with Push, Polygon seeks to offer communication between applications and users by utilizing notification features, thereby improving the user experience in Polygon’s 37,000 decentralized apps (dApps).

Polygon developers also benefit from the integration by gaining access to tools that enable them to launch channels and notifications for users. This entails that users get to experience “app-to-wallet communication,” as well as “wallet-to-wallet communication.”

Sandeep Nailwal, the co-founder of Polygon, commented on the collaboration when he said:

“By unlocking instant, direct notifications within the Polygon ecosystem and beyond, Push evolves the services many of us take for granted — bringing us one step closer to a truly composable and decentralized web.”

The announcement added that more features, such as the ability “to subscribe to a set of channels” will be seen as the partnership continues.

Robinhood Adopts Polygon to Launch Web 3 Wallet

Two days ago, the U.S.-based investment company Robinhood integrated the Polygon network as its first blockchain while rolling out its non-custodial Web 3 wallet called the Robinhood Wallet.

While the full version of the app is expected to be rolled out in the future, the investment company made its beta version available to 10,000 iOS users and gave them access to free trading and swapping of assets without network fees. These users were also offered crypto rewards and connections to several dApps.
