Pi Core Team Expands App Studio With Code Upload and Download

The Pi Core Team has rolled out a major update to the Pi App Studio. They are adding long awaited tools that let developers upload and download app source code directly. The new features mark a big step in Pi Network’s mission to make app creation within its ecosystem more flexible, efficient and developer friendly.

Announced on X (formerly Twitter) by the official Pi Core Team account. The update is being celebrated across the community as a “game-changer” for Pi app developers. It opens the door for faster innovation and brings the Pi ecosystem closer to a full-fledged Web3 development platform.

Developers Get More Control

With this upgrade, Pi App Studio users can now download their app’s source code to work on it locally. This gives developers the freedom to use their preferred coding tools. It tests new features and fixes bugs more effectively. After making changes, they can re-upload the updated source code to Pi App Studio. This automatically updates the app version within the platform. 

This new flexibility helps developers create more complex and optimized Pi-based applications. Without being restricted to in-browser tools. The update also introduces cost-saving improvements. As each in-platform modification will now save developers 0.25 Pi, it encourages efficiency and experimentation. The Core Team said the new system will make it easier to scale the Pi Web3 ecosystem. Clarifying that no such document has been officially published by the Core Team.
