OKX Signs Sponsorship Deal with Man City

As part of the agreement, the OKX logo will be displayed on the club’s training kit for both senior men and women for the 2022/2023 season. The kit will be worn by the men’s team today during their preparations for their pre-season games.

Additionally, the crypto exchange said it has tapped famous street artist Akse P19 and Global Street Art Agency to create artworks featuring City players including  Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, João Cancelo, and John Stones. The artworks will include QR codes that allow fans to win season tickets in the OKX Hospitality Box.

The sponsorship deal is part of an existing partnership between the two companies. In March, OKX signed an agreement with Manchester City to become its official cryptocurrency exchange partner. Last week, the exchange also became the presenting partner of Man City’s Trophy Tour 2022.

“The real grit and perseverance is built on the training ground. This is the way we want to nurture new users on our platform. Being Man City’s Official Training Kit Partner helps us extend that mindset from the training ground over to our trading app community. We want our community to learn from that mindset and use our demo trading feature to train for the real exchange just like Man City players train before the beginning of the season,”  Haider Rafique, Global Chief Marketing Officer at OKX, said.

Crypto and Sports

Sponsorship deals between crypto and sporting firms have become very common in recent times. Crypto firms are seeking to attract a larger audience through these deals while sporting organizations are looking to engage their fans with the asset class.

In May, digital asset platform WhaleFin inked a $20 million-a-year deal with EPL team Chelsea Football Club to become its official sleeve partner. Last month, Blockchain platform VeChain signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
