Crypto Exchange OKEx Makes English Premier League Debut

OKEx Makes English Premier League Debut

Malta-based crypto exchange, OKEx, has announced that it will be shown on pitchside broadcasting systems during live English Premier League (EPL) football games.

According to a press release, OKEx, in a partnership with England Football Association, announced today that beginning from this weekend in English top games, which would feature major football teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, its brand will be advertised during the games, in an efforts to promote the exchange globally.

The games are scheduled to take place as follows: AFC Bournemouth vs. Arsenal slated to hold on November 25, while Huddersfield Town vs. Brighton & Hove Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Chelsea, and AFC Bournemouth vs. Liverpool are scheduled to take place on 1st, 5th, and on the 8th December respectively.

“Football is a universal language.  It connects and unifies people beyond borders. Blockchain technology shares the same core values. We are very thrilled to see that digital technology is getting more accepted and adopted in the sports industry and we are proud to be part of it,” OKEx’s Head of Operations, Andy Cheung said about the deal.

OKEx To The World

The idea of the partnership is to get the world to know more about the blockchain technology and its application. Since the English Premier League ranks as the most watched league in the world, OKEx is tapping into this opportunity to promote cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

Win OKEx $50 Giveaway

In celebration of this feat, OKEx has announced the launch of a campaign for users and non-users to win 50 USDT. To qualify for this campaign users are urged to watch the English games that will feature the advertisement of the exchange on the pitchside broadcasting system, and take a snapshot of the digital exchange banner before sharing with OKEx on twitter.

Football and Cryptocurrencies

This is not the first time football and cryptocurrencies are coming together. As Coinfomania reported earlier in September, Juventus, a top Serie A football club in Italy, announced that it will launch a crypto token for its fan next year.

Juventus, a club that features some of the world’s best players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala said it will collaborate with Socios.com, a Maltese tokenized sports fan voting platform to develop the token.

In September also, Paris Saint-Germain, another great football club in the France Ligue 1, signed a partnership agreement with Socios.com to create a similar token for its fan.

This growing relationship between football and the cryptocurrency industry will, no doubt, help cryptos to achieve mainstream adoption.
