NBA Star Stephen Curry Becomes Global Ambassador of FTX Exchange

Cryptocurrency Exchange, FTX, has recently announced a long-term partnership deal with American professional basketball player, Stephen Curry.

The development makes the NBA player the latest sports champion to become a global ambassador of FTX in 2021, joining football star Trevor Lawrence who along with his wife also became a partner and ambassador of the exchange in June.

Curry, whose partnership with FTX marks his first investment in the cryptocurrency space, will also receive an equity stake thereby becoming a shareholder of the cryptocurrency trading platform.

Based on the influence and popularity he has gained over the years, Curry’s equity stake, as well as his ambassadorial role, will further expand FTX’s brand worldwide and advance its position as the fastest growing and most trusted place to trade NFTs, cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and other digital assets.

Speaking about the partnership, Stephen Curry said

I’m excited to partner with a company that demystifies the crypto space and eliminates the intimidation factor for first-time users. FTX is like-minded when it comes to giving back to the community in meaningful ways and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.

Launched in 2019, Curry and his wife’s charity foundation, Eat.Learn.Play was also not left out in the partnership. The foundation, which focuses on providing necessary needs such as food and education to unprivileged children, will now receive a charitable contribution from FTX every year.

The CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, also commented on this development, referring to Curry as a “seamless fit for FTX.” He added that the NBA player’s commitment to everything including charity and basketball “perfectly aligns with FTX’s core values,” hence the reason for the partnership.

He concluded by saying: “I look forward to working together with Stephen to create a positive impact for those who need it most in the world.”
