Popular Bitcoin entrepreneur Michael Terpin has joined the advisory board of digital asset security company NGRAVE, according to a press release shared with Coinfomania on Friday.
Terpin to advise NGRAVE
Terpin who is an early cryptocurrency investor will now advise the firm on public relations and business strategy as NGRAVE launches its crypto hardware wallet, NGRAVE ZERO. The security company claims the wallet is the most secure hardware wallet in the world.
Michael Terpin is the founder and CEO of Transform Group, a blockchain communication company that has served more than 200 clients in the blockchain industry and CoinAgenda, an event series for cryptocurrency investors. He is also a co-founder at BitAngels, the first angel network for digital currency startups.
He has earned recognition as one of ICO Alert’s Top Blockchain Influencers and Cointelegraph’s Top 100 people. The Bitcoin entrepreneur is also a general partner at Alphabit Fund, a digital currency fund with $400 million in assets under management.
“Security is one of the major roadblocks to mainstream crypto adoption, and NGRAVE is leading the way in ensuring the next wave of users will have access to a top-notch solution for managing their digital assets. I’m happy to lend my guidance to NGRAVE as they launch the world’s most secure crypto hardware wallet,” Terpin said in the release.
A victim of $24 million crypto theft
Michael Terpin was a victim of a sim swap hack that led to the theft of his cryptocurrencies worth around $24 million at that time. Following the incident, Terpin sued American telecommunication giant AT&T Inc., for aiding and abetting the hackers in the nefarious act, the report said.
His involvement with NGRAVE would make sense considering that the company is trying to provide a better and more secure way of storing digital assets.
Ruben Merre, co-founder and CEO of NGRAVE welcomes the newest board member with excitement, saying:
Michael Terpin was an early supporter of the NGRAVE concept and has already provided us with valuable guidance on our global outreach and strategy. We look forward to working with Michael and his teams at Transform Group and BitAngels to introduce NGRAVE to the global crypto community.
NGRAVE ZERO: a full offline hardware wallet
Per the report, the hardware wallet provider said the NGRAVE ZERO would be a complete offline wallet unlike that of competitors such as Ledger and Trezor that rely on USB and Bluetooth connections. The hardware wallet will be available for pre-order from May 26, 2020.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, the security company partnered with blockchain project Chainlink to launch a solution called Dead Man’s Switch. The product allows cryptocurrency users to securely pass their digital assets to their loved once upon their death without compromising the safety of their portfolio.
