Finally, a MiFID license for Kraken in the European Union. Not a bad way to start 2025. Now Kraken will be able to draw investments into crypto derivatives from all 27 European Union Nations. But at what cost?
Kraken acquired a Cyprus-based investment firm, with license from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Monday Kraken posted that they are resolved to meet the conditions of operating and launching new products in the local European Union markets.
MiFID: Part of a Bigger Strategy
Now Kraken will join other players like FTX in the investment market. But this license is only a gateway for Kraken to expand across the continent. The assistant GM of the company had to say that European markets have always been their top priority.
Kraken’s commitment to the European Nations also describes their urge to work in a trusted and regulated environment.
Other Developments
Promptly after MiFID licensing, Kraken launched Kraken Pay. This payment platform helps users to exchange payments through 300 cryptocurrencies. The platform accepts fiat currencies as well. In January 2025, Kraken thought of a platform that could settle transactions instantly and enable international fund transfers.
Traditional crypto transverse can be slow and draining. But Kraken, with meaningful payment and allied services in crypto, will easily become a global go-to option.
How Can Traders Cash In?
Now experienced traders can leverage digital assets with the help of dynamic collateral to support them. Europe is already an intense market for trading in crypto derivatives. Kraken is now an added option for investors. It is also the first licensed platform for crypto trading and payment transactions, indigenous to Europe. Time will tell whether users find it optimal or not!
