If there’s one thing we all find exciting about crypto, it is the fact that there is always something to cheer on even on the bad days when Bitcoin losses roughly $1000. Each time you get on Twitter, you will find at least one project building something for crypto, strengthening the belief that this industry is one of the future.
On June 5, however, a mini-debate took place among members of the crypto community and as is often the case, Bitcoin enthusiast, Anthony Pompliano started the panel by asking, Who is the best founder in crypto?
Who is the best founder in crypto?
— Pomp ? (@APompliano) June 5, 2019
Given his unhidden passion for defending Bitcoin, it was almost apparent that Pompliano only wanted to remind everyone that the whole industry might not exist if not for the work of Bitcoin’s anonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
However, one comment mostly catches the eye, that made by Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao. CZ, as he is fondly known on Twitter, wrote,
Hard to pick a single one, there are many strong founders in crypto, won’t fit in one tweet. If it has to be one, then:
Satoshi Nakamoto
He wrote a 9-page doc, and some code. No team, no ICO, no tweets, no lambo, no trolls. $100b 10 years later.
Don’t u wish u could do that?
— CZ Binance (@cz_binance) June 6, 2019
CZ’s comment, though brilliant from a general perspective is flawed and mask some hidden truths regarding Bitcoin unless the Binance CEO knows who Satoshi Nakamoto is.
For one thing, no one till date has evidence that Satoshi Nakamoto was even male or a single individual. It could as well be that the pseudonymous founder of Bitcoin was a team of programmers and perhaps economist, given the principles that underpin the cryptocurrency.
That fact, however, does not take away the brilliance of the invention.
Achieving a $100 billion market cap in 10 years as CZ pointed out reminds every Bitcoin believer of the reason while the cryptocurrency will last long into the future. In the end, it could turn out to be one of those Twitter debates that will become a meme after another ten years of Bitcoin existence.
