Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has announced the return of Intae Song as its Chief Sales Officer (CSO). Song, who has been with the company since 2020, previously held the position of Head of Sales before becoming a Business Partner in 2023. Now, after nearly two years, he is back in the CSO role to strengthen Bitget’s position in the futures trading market.
Song’s Journey in the Crypto Industry
Intae Song entered the cryptocurrency world in 2017 as a personal investor. In 2020, he joined Bitget in a sales role and quickly climbed the ranks. By 2021, he was promoted to Head of Sales, where he played a key role in driving the company’s growth. In 2023, he transitioned into a Business Partner role before now returning to his previous position as CSO.
In his new role, Song will focus on developing institutional-grade trading solutions and improving risk management tools. Bitget aims to enhance its competitive edge, especially in the futures market, which remains one of its strongest sectors.
“Over the years, Intae has played a huge role in shaping our strategy and driving our expansion,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “We’re confident he will continue to help us scale further and take Bitget to new heights.”
Expansion and Key Hires at Bitget
Bitget is a leading cryptocurrency exchange that was founded in 2018 and offers various services, such as spot trading, futures trading, and copy trading. Additionally, the company operates a multi-chain cryptocurrency wallet, previously known as BitKeep. Bitget has been working towards growing its employees as part of an effort to grow its global presence. The company hired Hon Ng, who previously worked as Binance’s Chief Legal Officer, last year to spearhead its legal team.
The company has also seen rapid growth in its user base. Currently, Bitget has over 100 million users in more than 150 countries and regions. At the same time, Bitget Wallet has witnessed a surge in users, crossing the 60 million mark with a 300% growth in 2024.
“When I first joined Bitget, it was a rising platform with immense potential,” said Song. “Today, it stands as a major force in the industry. The futures market remains our strongest pillar, and my goal is to make it the undisputed leader.”
Sports Partnerships and Global Outreach
Bitget has also made significant investments in sports sponsorships. It is the Official Crypto Partner of LALIGA in selected regions. Speaking about this partnership, LALIGA President Javier Tebas emphasized the importance of technology and innovation in the league’s strategy.
“Over the last decade, digitalization and innovation have been among LALIGA’s priorities,” said Tebas. “Last season, we made this a priority under the umbrella of our New Era, which emphasized technology: we want to be pioneers, and we are committed to it.”
Bitget has also partnered with Turkish national athletes, including wrestling world champion Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu, further expanding its reach in the sports industry.
With the return of Song as CSO and the company’s ongoing expansion, Bitget continues to solidify its position as a major player in the cryptocurrency market.
