Bitcoin P2P Platform Paxful Appoints Roshan Dharia as New Interim CEO

Interim CEO

Bitcoin peer-to-peer trading platform Paxful has finally filled the vacant seat for the role of its CEO. According to a Tuesday announcement, the exchange has appointed Roshan Dharia as its new interim CEO to manage its day-to-day activities.

Roshan Dharia Joins Paxful

Before joining Paxful as its interim CEO, Dharia previously held a role as a senior executive at Archblock (formerly TrustToken). He headed the platform’s DeFi institutional lending business. He is known for the creation of the investment firm PTHL Affiliates. Dharia has also situated himself as an investor across several investment projects.

In his opening speech as the new CEO, Roshan Dharia said:

“It’s a great honor to become CEO of Paxful. Over the last eight years Paxful has been a pioneer in establishing the real use cases of Bitcoin and helping millions of people in the process. I look forward to hitting the ground running and building on the innovative technology developed by the Paxful team.”

Paxful Recovery From Legal Tussle Between Founders

Paxful’s new leadership comes after the platform was affected by a legal battle between the two individuals that founded the company – Artur Schaback and Ray Youssef.

Earlier this year, Artur Schaback, the COO of the P2P platform, charged his partner, Yourself, in court over claims that Youssef hid users’ data from him. The dispute between the duo resulted in a reduction in workers, thereby affecting the smooth running of the exchange.

Paxful closed down most of its operations for about a month, starting in April. During that time, Paxful users accessed services through the exchange’s self-custodial wallet. Later that month, Youssef stepped down from his role as Paxful’s CEO.

The seat remained vacant even when Paxful resumed operations earlier this month. With the leadership of Paxful clearly defined now, users expect that Dharia’s administration will enable them to access their frozen funds on the platform.
