Ghostface Killah

Bitcoin Ordinals take the spotlight as the legendary rapper Ghostface Killah deploys a new song on the protocol.

Dennis David Coles, known by his stage name Ghostface Killah, has embraced the Bitcoin blockchain to launch his new song. Through a collaboration with NakaPepes, Rare Scrilla, and the Ordinal Bot, the American rapper inscribed 10,000 units of his song on the Bitcoin Ordinal protocol.

Music Enters the Bitcoin Ordinal Protocol

Ghostface Killah revealed that the 10k collection will be available via a free mint. The rapper added that holders will be entitled to Creative Commons Zero (CC0) rights. It implies a waiver of copyright interest, allowing the general public to reuse the work as they see fit.

Notably, this is not the Ghostface Killah’s first foray into the crypto industry. In 2017, he launched a crypto-based project called Cream Capital. The project sought to raise $30 million from investors via an initial coin offering (ICO). That same year, an ICO frenzy consumed the internet.

The 53-year-old rapper now become one of the first musicians to inscribe their songs on the Bitcoin blockchain. Last week, Moroccan-American rapper French Montana launched the Hidden Song on the Ordinal protocol. The song was part of the rapper’s recent album – Mac & Cheese 5.

Since its launch in January 2022 by developer Casey Rodarmor, the Ordinal protocol has revolutionized the Bitcoin ecosystem, paving the way for inscriptions in the form of images, audio, video, and many more. Several projects have emerged, generating incredible sales from investors. The increased engagement with the Bitcoin network contributed to BTC’s recent price surge.
