Barcelona

FC Barcelona, one of the leading football clubs in the world, has signed a new partnership with cryptocurrency exchange WhiteBit, making the company its official digital assets service provider for three seasons ending June 30, 2025.

Commitment to Innovation

According to the official announcement, the partnership seeks to strengthen the Club’s commercial strategy and to further bolster its international expansion. Both companies plan to work on a range of offline and online projects to bring the world of digital assets and professional sports together for fans worldwide.

The European-based crypto trading platform will obtain association rights from the Club’s men’s and women’s football first teams, basketball, handball, roller hockey, and futsal teams.

Barcelona, which has gained a series of honors and recognition since its inception on November 29, 1899,  launched its Digital Barca Fan Token dubbed $BAR on July 6, 2020, through a partnership with Socios.Com. The Club has since then been actively engaging with crypto-focused firms.

Today’s disclosures represent the football Club’s commitment to innovation, said Juli Guiu, FC Barcelona Vice president of the Marketing area.

“Additionally, this partnership will help us to continue growing and developing our global commercial expansion strategy, strengthening the Club further while remaining a benchmark in an increasingly competitive field,” said Juli Guiu, FC Barcelona Vice president of the Marketing area,” Guiu added.

WhiteBit to Work with Barca’s eSports Team

Barca also disclosed that the collaboration would see WhiteBit create digital content to increase awareness about the two firms. The exchange will also be displayed on Spotify Camp Nou LED screens during match days.

The European-based crypto firm will work alongside the Club’s eSports team through backdrops during live competitions, including pre and post-game content.

With the new partnership, WhiteBit will also take on other actions like working as a partner for the Club’s innovation and knowledge platform, Barca Innovation Hub, starting with the annual “Sports Tomorrow Congress.”

The company’s CEO, Volodymyr Nosov, believes the deal will bring a new experience of using digital assets and make it more accessible for everyone.

“The start of our warm relationship with the legendary Barca as an official crypto exchange partner is a significant step for the community as a whole. It is also a great pride and responsibility for us. We dream, and we dream big, hence we’re sure that our cooperation will bring a new experience of using cryptocurrencies, their accessibility, and comprehensibility for everyone,” said Nosov.
