CZ predicts Bitcoin could soon become a global reserve currency at the Bitcoin Conference, fueling debate among market participants.

CZ Envisions Bitcoin as Future Global Reserve Currency at Bitcoin Asia 2025

The founder and former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), has delivered a powerful speech at Bitcoin Asia 2025, making headlines.

CZ enlightened that “I do believe that Bitcoin will become the global reserve currency.” This value remark drew the market attention around Bitcoin, reflecting strong reactions from both supporters and skeptics, signalling growing debate about Bitcoin’s role in the global financial space.

    A Bold Vision for Bitcoin

CZ, one of the most influential figures in the crypto landscape, explained that with unique qualities and potential opportunities, Bitcoin is projecting itself as a standalone asset from traditional fiat currencies and other digital assets. Because, with fixed supply, decentralization, and censorship resistance, Bitcoin is projecting itself as the stronger candidate to achieve the status of a global reserve currency.

Capped with a 21 million token supply, Bitcoin is creating a scarcity-driven value proposition. CZ emphasized the scarcity, mixed with Bitcoin’s borderless nature, positioning it as a hedge against inflation and monetary policy.

    Market Impact

As CZ highlighted Bitcoin’s transparency, trust, and predictability at the conference event, it quickly circulated across social platforms, sparking optimism and criticism. Supporters praised his note, arguing that BTC is a decentralized alternative to the traditional financial systems. But critics are warning about its extreme volatility, scalability, and regulatory barriers.

    Bitcoin’s Global Momentum

After CZ’s Bitcoin conversation, individuals, large-scale corporations, and institutional investors are eyeing adopting Bitcoin as part of their balance sheet strategy. Though El Salvador has already recognized Bitcoin as a legal tender, now, Bitcoin is setting new standards across the market, positioning it as a key player in reducing global dependency on the U.S. dollar.

    Looking Ahead

With mixed market reaction, Changpeng Zhao’s prediction underscores the growing institutional adoption of Bitcoin. As Bitcoin continues to mature, Bitcoin is now becoming a global reserve currency. Highlighting the qualities like hedging against inflation, geopolitical conflicts, and traditional financial institutions are now pouring funds into Bitcoin.
