BAT News: Brave Browser Releases Trial Version of Video Conferencing Solution

Brave Together

Privacy-oriented and cryptocurrency-focused browser, Brave is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to enjoy video conferencing features similar to major competitors, Zoom and Google Hangout.

On Tuesday, Brave revealed that its Nightly version for North America now features Brave Together, a private and unlimited video calling service, built on open-source video conferencing solution, Jisti.

Users can access the new feature via the integrated widget on a desktop while enjoying Brave’s inherent privacy features, unlike existing video conferencing solutions that have come under fire for selling user data to advertisers or allowing hackers access to private information.

Regarding it’s newly launched Brave Together, the company notes that nothing a user says or types during a video conference “is logged or saved,” as the content of the call is encrypted.

Brave Together features

While still in its trial version, the Brave Together video conferencing solution features, private and unlimited HD video calling, screen sharing, YouTube video sharing, chat for participants, raise a hand, and speaker stats and analytics.

It is still unclear how Brave plans to integrates its native Basic Attention Token (BAT) to the video conferencing service, but followers are speculating that at least, users would be able to tip BAT to meeting participants.

Interestingly, Brave Together is being released at a time when the Brave browser has recorded tremendous growth in terms of new users and business partnerships.

The Brave browser as we previously reported had over eight million active users globally in October 2019 (14 million now), and recently partnered with leading cryptocurrency exchange, Binance to offer a widget for purchasing cryptocurrencies.

Additionally, Brave has bought back over 900,000 BAT tokens in the last two months alone and could record more adoption since it now offers one of the most used internet solutions right now, and with advanced privacy features, unlike its competitors.
