Aptos Partners With Microsoft to Drive Web3 Mainstream Adoption

Layer 1 protocol Aptos announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with tech giant Microsoft to enhance Web3 mainstream adoption. The partnership would enable the blockchain to create Aptos Assistant, a chatbot bridge that would help users onboard into Web3, the network stated.

“Artificial Intelligence and blockchain technologies are quickly converging for one important reason: they are both generational breakthroughs that profoundly impact the evolution of the internet and shape society. Together with Microsoft, our shared vision is to ensure that this technology is accessible to more people and organizations than ever before,” Aptos CEO Mo Shaikh said after the partnership.

Easy Onboarding

The partnership would allow Aptos to run validator nodes on Microsoft’s cloud platform, Azure, facilitating the networks’ reliability and security. Aptos would also model an OpenAI-like chatbot, which it termed Aptos Assistant.

According to Aptos, the Aptos Assistant is a user-friendly, responsible, and secure assistant that would make onboarding to Web3 easier. The chatbot could converse with users in natural language and tell them more about the Aptos blockchain.

The Aptos Assistant would also help developers build smart contracts and decentralized applications by providing them with the needed resources and practical step-by-step guides.

Microsoft to Explore Tokenization

Another clause in the agreement revealed that Microsoft and Aptos would explore innovative solutions such as asset tokenization, payment, and central bank digital currencies (CBDC), which will further enhance the mainstream adoption of Web3.

“The intersection of AI and blockchain is one of the most interesting combinations of emerging technologies and can generate transformational use cases. By fusing Aptos Labs’ technology with the Microsoft Azure Open AI Service capabilities, we aim to democratize the use of blockchain, enabling users to seamlessly onboard to Web3 and innovators to develop new exciting decentralized applications using AI,” Microsoft’s general manager on emerging technologies, Rashmi Misra, said.

Microsoft made deadlines in the crypto sector a few months ago after reports emerged that it was considering integrating a crypto wallet into its website. The tech firm has shown glimpses of interest in digital currencies and Web3 a few times before but has not been quite clear on its intentions until now.
