Apple has revealed that this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) would specifically target cryptographic developer tools. The American multinational tech giant says it would be unveiling a new tool for developers called “Cryptokit.”

The WWDC event, titled “Cryptography and your Apps” and scheduled for June 5, 2019, will be held in San Jose, California.

CryptoKit will be released as an update on iOS 13 and it is designed to enable developers to perform cryptographic operations swiftly and securely. Although the tool’s capabilities are yet unknown, Apple’s team will be unveiling intricate details about the tool on Wednesday.

The event description gave limelight on the tool saying, “System frameworks encrypt both data at rest and data in transit in a transparent way for you. This functionality is available by simply setting an attribute. However, you may want to do more to protect your users’ data.”

Viktor Radchenko, founder of TustWallet while commenting on Apple’s Cryptokit states that the tool is bringing Apple a step closer to being a hard wallet. Frederic Jacobs, a member of Apple’s cryptographic and security engineering team, tweets that, CryptoKit is “a fast and secure Swift API to perform cryptographic operations.”

On the part of Apple’s Users, they have been on the lookout for more information from the company since Apple released the new San Francisco icon set designed for iOS3. There were 1,000 icons and four of these Icons bear bitcoin logos. Asides the bitcoin Logos, there are no other cryptocurrency logos.

Earlier in May, NEO had offered smart payment via Apple Pay. Cryptocurrency wallet Spend also integrated the apple pay functionality giving access to more cryptocurrencies besides bitcoin.
