Andreas Antonopoulos: Bitcoin and Blockchain Will Bring Global Peace And Justice

Andreas-Antonopoulos

Bitcoin and open blockchain expert, Andreas M. Antonopoulos, believes that blockchain technology is a “mechanism for global peace and justice,” rather than a traditional violent alternative.

In a recent interview with Tom Shaughnessy and Medio Demarco, Antonopoulos expressed his belief of the current state of the world, heralding Bitcoin as the one option available to individuals in achieving global peace, rather than of depending on international organizations and signing of corruptible peace treaties to realize world peace and justice.

In his opinion regarding blockchain and the future of the world, the Greek-British bitcoin advocate, stressed that “blockchain is a non-institutional mechanism of justice as an internet-based service that can be voluntarily joined by individuals who choose to participate in it.”

Who has justice has peace

Blockchain technologies, according to him, provide an excellent form of justice that protects property rights, freedom of expression, and association. This is because the tech offers justice as a service without necessarily involving the state or local intermediaries that are corruptible.

Antonopoulos believes anyone “who has justice has peace,” and blockchain offers people a better avenue to achieve justice.

He further describes cryptocurrency as a technology that rises above empires and different forms of human rule that have been weighed in the balance before it and have all proved deficient.

Meanwhile, as per the future of the world, Antonopoulos suggests that the only path to a peaceful world is to increase the level of justice for everyone.

For him, if individuals invest in cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, it will eventually result in an equal redistribution of power.

Bitcoin will not replace fiat

Earlier in May, Coinfomania reported one of Antonopoulos’ perspective as a pragmatist, that Bitcoin fits well into the current currency system like websites on the internet, where individuals enjoy the freedom of choosing which ones to visit.

However, he does not believe that the cryptocurrency will completely overshadow existing fiat currencies as many crypto enthusiasts hope for. In his words, the idea that Bitcoin is here to replace national currencies is a fallacy.”
