Bitcoin Depot, a major Bitcoin ATM network based in Atlanta, Georgia, has signed a long-term partnership with Circle K to set up Bitcoin ATMs in convenience stores across the United States and Canada.

According to the official announcement, there are over 700 Bitcoin ATMs already installed in various Circle K locations across 30 states in the US. The partnership aims to provide convenience to users  through the installation of more ATMs thereby promoting the growth and  spread of cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin Depot ATMs are physical kiosks that permit users to purchase cryptocurrencies in exchange for cash. The platform offers various cryptocurrency options including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin to its customers with more than 2000 already existing ATMs available in different locations in the US.

Brandon Mintz, the CEO of Bitcoin Depot, noted that the partnership with Circle K will help the company upscale its services in the international market.

He also acknowledged that making the Bitcoin ATMs available to the convenience store chain will increase their visibility thereby expanding the number of customers that visit the store and at the same time set themselves apart from other retail businesses by providing financial access to the “underserved communities.”

Circle K is a global chain of  convenience stores that provides a variety of products for people on the go. The US-based firm is owned by Alimentation Couche-Tard, a Canadian convenience store giant.

Denny Tewell, Senior Vice president at Circle K, also commented on the new deal, saying:

“At Circle K, we are passionate about making our customers’ lives a little easier every day, and we are continually looking at ways to enhance their experience in our stores and be their favorite stop for a growing range of needs and occasions.

Our partnership with Bitcoin Depot further builds on this commitment, giving our brand an important, early presence in the fast-growing cryptocurrency marketplace as a convenient destination where customers can buy Bitcoin.”

Bitcoin ATMs have grown exponentially since their inception. Data show that there are currently 23,915 crypto ATMs in 75 countries with the U.S. topping the market with 21,000 Bitcoin ATM locations, controlling more than 86% of the market.
